BIOTECH INDUSTRIAL TRAINING PROGRAMME (BITP) 2015-16
On behalf of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) is implementing since 1993-94, a scheme of practical industrial training for M.Sc./M.Tech./B.E./B.Tech. Biotechnology students. The objective of this progamme is to provide industry-specific training to Biotech students for skill development and enhancing their job opportunities in biotech industry. This programme provides an opportunity to Biotech Industry for training and selecting suitable manpower. The training period is for six months during which a trainee is paid stipend of Rs.10,000/- per month and trainer company is paid a bench fee to cover the expenses for providing training. The next batch of training will commence in September – October.

BITP is a programme of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, managed by Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL). The objective of BITP is to provide practical industrial exposure for six months to students to improve job prospects and to help biotech industry to identify prospective manpower. During the training stipend @ Rs.10000/- per month is paid to trainees and bench fee is paid to companies to cover expenses towards training. DBT invites applications from the biotech students and requisitions from the biotech companies.

Biotech companies interested to provide practical training to the students of biotechnology under BITP may apply online. The companies would have no obligation towards any payments to trainees. Biotech students interested in practical training in biotech companies may apply online latest by May 10, 2015. B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc./M.Tech./M.V.Sc. in Biotechnology from an Indian recognized university with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade completed in the year 2014 or 2015 are eligible to apply. To fill the application form, please visit www.bcil.nic.in/bitp2015/index.asp. The following documents are to be sent to Mr. Manoj Gupta, Manager, Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL), 5th floor, Anuvrat Bhavan, 210, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg, New Delhi-110002 by speed post/courier:
a) A demand draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of “Biotech Consortium India Limited, New Delhi” towards non-refundable application fee. Please write your application id, name, date of birth and mobile no. on the reverse side of the demand draft.
b) Hard copy of the system generated acknowledgement of the application form submitted online.
c) Self Attested copies of final marksheets of qualifying examination showing cumulative percentage of marks or equivalent CGPA.. For students appearing for the final year examination in 2015, filled and signed certificate from the Head of the Department on college/ university letter head in the format available on our website.
